DoA build that looks do-able
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10327624
I know people have been using cryer teams in DoA for a while. This is the first team build that I have seen that looks almost easy to pull off. I would very much like to try this if we can get some guild/alliance participation.
It would obviously help if the people interested have a decent lightbringer and sunspear rank if they are damage dealers.
I would like to see what people think of this, if we can get enough interest maybe we can set up a playing time for this.
Even if you do not want to give it a go, maybe you have thoughts on the build. I would like to hear what people think.
You know me I would be interested in doing these type of areas effectively and efficiently.
This Sunday night (10-5-08 ) FOM is going to try to do this build and we would love to have some alliance friends along.

Depending on your start time, I may be able to join. Although I have done DoA a few times, I know that I still have plenty to learn about DoA. I'm probably the most comfortable with healer roles, but I would also not have a problem doing one of the Ele roles (as long as I can get the needed skills and figure out how to use them). :D
Actually, my plans just got changed, as it now appears that I will need to fly to northern California again Sunday afternoon. While I will have my laptop with me, I never know if my hotel internet connection will have the gusto to be able to do anything without massive lag spikes. :|
Well it didn't happen, several FOMer were out of town as well, So lets try this again, want to do this on a Friday or Saturday Night instead, I can do somewhat late night then.
I would be interested in Friday or Saturday night. I also would not mind trying UW SC again. DoA is more familiar to me, that makes things a little easier for me.
Saturday sounds better than Friday. \
I hope to do more UW SC on Friday. I think a number of us are getting more framilier with the roles and have been successful a number of times.
I would be happy to be able to do both runs with an alliance group!! That would make me quite happy to see that much interest and cooperation!
DoA with FOM ~ Friday or Saturday should be good with me as long as I have time to tell the wifey.
Speed Clears ~ To be honest - people need to watch those videos and cough up some mats/cash and get a celerity + some golden eggs or candy corn (or get a whole conset for the +1 attributes, +armor, + health, + energy benefits). Then take those and go practice some more. I spent about 6 celerity in a row trying different things in UW by myself.
I learned that any of the sliver armor builds can do the entire "clear the chamber" quest. Takes me 6-7 minutes to get 1 of 10 quests complete so I can take the "Restoring Grenths Monuments" quest and then move on to try the different ele roles (wastes, pits, mountains, pools)
Because I coughed up my own celerity + sweets I have learned how to do all the ele roles.
A chamber sin could do chamber and then practice "unwelcome guests"
I would be happy to do some more test runs with people in vent because honestly all my pug groups FAIL.
Good idea on the practice, Jhaedin, and I will do it, I obviously need it. Questions:
1. I've done plains before in hm with my sin, and have a lot of problem with aatxe scattering, healing and coming back. Not a problem with plains runs, I just pull the grasps away and kill them, but how do you keep them together for clear the chamber?
When you spawn in UW you start out in the chamber and there is a staircase to your right and a staircase to the left. I take the quest, run left to right and gather everyone. I then head back to the staircase on the left of where you spawn in UW. If you go down the staircase there is a small space between the staircase and the wall. Go in there all the way and they will not be able to scatter. You should have them all dead in 2-3 minutes.
For the next part of the quest once I run over by the terrorwebs where the reaper will spawn, I gather up everyone I can get. You can open tank these guys, including the aatxes. You want to make sure all the of the aatxes are dead before you pop the reaper or they would kill him. In the first part where you spawn you dont actually need to kill all of those aatxes.
Sliver armor seems to always target the aatxes first. Kill the terrorwebs last after everyone else is dead. Killing them pops the reaper (makes the reaper pop up from nowhere). If there are enemies around when the reaper spawns they will probably kill him and you will be sent back to ToA.
Make sure you have a wand or a spear but not a melee weapon. Start wanding whoever is being targetted by sliver armor and he will not scatter. Even if he has already scattered, target him and start wanding him, he will come back to you and sliver armor will re-target him.
The same tactic works for the graspings, target and wand whoever scatters and they will come back to you. This simple trick makes it very easy to run a sliver armor build for this quest. I can clear the chamber and complete that quest (including popping the reaper and he is totally safe because everyone is dead) in 6-7 minutes.
Once you have completed that, if you are there to practice sliver armor builds take the quest Restoring Grenths Monuments. Now you can practice whichever section you were going to do (pools, pits, wastes, mountains) with all things being how it would be in a real SC run.
If anyone wants to practice more I would be happy to go in together so we can share the burden of the celerity. I use an egg (1 egg every 5 minutes actually) so that I dont need to use the other consumables.
Maybe when I get home I can try taking some screen shots to make it easier to understand, but I wont be home for several hours.
I am pretty confident in my ele roles for the SC runs. My problem is that my groups always fail. I have bad luck with pugs and out of probably 20-25 runs, I have had 2 successful completions even though I have done my part. Gerg has better luck than me and said he is running about 75% success with his pugs :?
