Farming Spectral Vaettir
Well I tried farming the Spectral Vaettir in Jaga Moriane with this build;
E/Me Earth=16 Enrgry=9 (8+1) Ins=9 Air=5
Mantra of Earth
Stone Flesh Aura
Armor of Earth
Glyph of Swiftness
OB Flesh
Sliver Armor
Crystal Way
Teinai's Crystals
Since the Spectral Vaettir only do earth damage, there is no since in bringing Stone Striker.
However Getting there was awful! I ended up bringing Paragon/Warrior Hero with Charge and Fall back to help me run through the mess and even then only made there 1/2 the time. Has anyone had success at Farming these?

If you are not using Budger, try leaving from Longeye's. If you are even a little sneaky, there is no aggro along the way. Longeye's is the preferred starting point for 600 types going after the vaettir.

Longeye's is also the preferred back door way for Blood Washes Blood when you're re-filling books, and you can get there without agro, if you're careful.

Yep that was the trick, I got lots of stuff and stones but not the stuff I was looking for, guess I'll keep hitting it for a while to see if it improves. It is a easyway to rack up norn points though.
Quick Question, if I have a Focus crafted, can I salvage the Forget me not out of it?
jetlaw- 12-04-2008
Not if the inscription comes with the focus at the time that you have it crafted. On the other hand, if the focus came without an inscription and you added a Forget Me Not inscription yourself, then yes, you can remove the inscription and put it on something else.

Typical run in HM,
I've since changed my att spread a bit, dropping Insp for Air so that I can get benefit from Gylph of swiftness to both spells that keep you alive...

How long did the run take you Lax? Haven't done this particular run yet (mostly been doing solo Tomb runs in HM for a change of pace) and so kinda curious as to how long your run takes.
Xavier- 12-05-2008
Getting there takes the longest, other than that they don't take long to kill. I found that killing many smaller groups yeild more loot than just 2 large groups. but what is nice is after you get all your stuf just walk out the exit for the area and just walk back in and they are all waiting to die agian

**killing all 60 takes about 5-7 minutes
**IMHO killing them with silver armor slowly at the very end of their life (last 10% or so) yields more drops than spaming an AoE like crystal wave to finish them off.
**I take the long way and run from longeyes. Its a fun run, but I end up salvaging my drops and getting stacks of materials. Overall, its a great and fun farm for gold UNID's, mods, INSP and good weapons. Oh and the glacial stones are good too :)
cyvil- 12-07-2008
Someone posted stats on Guru that indicated that killing only the north group provided the best drops. Something about the percentage of mass drops being higher with the group of 36, versus the group of 24.
If the keg farming is not challenging enough for you, try it as a 600, that is tricky. The smiter gets his cut though, the drops are definitely not as good.
Chieftain Heavyhand- 12-07-2008
I have noticed the northern group does have better drops, but since your already there might as well take out the bottom group as well, they give up golds some times and always drop at least 1 Glacial stone. When special drops are going on they also drop quit a few of them as well.
Of course I mostly farm these guys with kegs so just my .02 on the mater.
Also tried it with my perma and daggers with sliver armor to cause damage while the attack skills were charging back up from Deadly Paradox. Much slower.
My fear is SF is going to be up for a beat down by the nerf bat because all the QQing going on from the Elitist on the fan forums.

I tried this but didn't seem to have the timing down as they kept getting their mez hex degens thru in my obs flesh cracks. Of the 5 that got killed, they did drop 2 glacial stones at least. I'll have to try again later.
