hero handbooks
Norn faction has a nice and popular farming route so I would say people really dont need to use books to raise their norn rank. However, I dont know of any great way to raise asura or ebon vanguard reputation. I ran accross this sticky on guru http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10245305 It talks about using HM handbooks to raise reputation faster than any other way. I think they fluff their HM times a bit but I do believe it is a very good way to raise reputation. I plan to use nm books (20k each) until I reach rank 8, then I will use a combinations of HM books and vanquishing to raise asuran and ebon ranks. I think the ideal way to do it would be get your points to 79k then hand in a nm handbook which would basically give you 19k worth of free HM points. normal mode books are seriously easy to complete. I know alot of shortcuts on the missions which saves alot of time. I my average time for missions on normal mode is 15-20 minutes, the longest probably being 40 minutes. My assualt on the stronghold thing didnt work when I tried to show some guildies...BUT it DOES really work! The main downside to doing it this way is: the loot is teh sux its repititious (so is grinding for points any other way)

Guess I am not that interested right now in raising quickly my Reputation points in the other areas. Norn seems to be the most important. I have a very bad luck with books, where I did not get credit or could not get the books filled out so generally am avoiding books for toons that have already finished EotN.

I happen to have room to handle books, and will likely use them to gain rep in areas my toon does not normally visit. I do want max titles for that toon, and with few point farming parties in Vanguard and Asuran areas, books seem to be the easiest route to go. I intend to use the Snowman Dungeon for Deldrimor points, and Varajar Falls for Norn.

I dont know if I made this part clear before. hand in a normal mode handbook (20k) when you have 79k rep. You will end up with 99k, hand in 2 HM handbooks (30k each) and you will end up with 159k rep. 1k more and you are maxed. Cyvil, or anyone else, give me a holler and I will do HM missions with you anytime. There are 4 HM missions that go much faster without having to H/H it. Most of the other missions you can h/h in under 25 minutes in HM. A few are even around 15 minutes.

Really not sure, as filling out books hasn't been my main focus recently (been spending most of my time getting my secondary characters through NF so they have a full compliment of heros). As for doing HM quests in EotN, it was good running with you the other day doing the Charr mission. Since you mentioned that you were saving the builds you were using for different missions, maybe you wouldn't mind posting some of them some time (there is always room for more hero builds).  :P As for doing HM stuff, I'd be happy to help you with additional HM stuff, as I need to up reputation on multiple characters. And if your ever wanting to do HM stuff elsewhere, just let me know. :D

Yeah I could post some builds in here. I have had to h/h most of the missions. Is there somewhere I could upload my whole eotn folder? That would just make it alot easier. I have a folder for each primary quest with the builds that were used for each one. Some of the builds are the same in mutiple missions but its still listed/named seperately. I came up with an awesome build today for Elusive Golemancer (Oola's Lab). I was having major problems just getting to the mission in HM. Previously I had come up with a 4 spirit spammers/ 4 henchies build that worked but I wanted something more fun. Now I have an ele water tank and an MM (YES an MM on this mission! thats right~). The MM makes getting there alot easier, and he bonds me with life bond (give him something to do once we get inside) while I tank with frigid armor, mist form and protective bond on myself~~ Its fun and it has actually made that mission somewhat easy for me (used to be in my top 4 of hardest)

Jet ... I have a Monk dying to get the last two NF missions done to give her access to DOA. Let me know when you plan those missions. Actually I know 4 people that have toons at the last two NF missions. Seems like all the attention is Ursen and title hunting these days.

Seems like all the attention is Ursen and title hunting these days. Don't forget DoA, Slaver's and Vanquishing.

None of my toons have completed EotN and I'll try the "A Time for Heros" hint this week for my Paragon SunRay. If anyone else wants to join in the fun, PM me. I'll be on most evenings from ~6-8 EST. Now for a random thought: We call our characters toons. But I question if this is correct, because if you are a student of cartoons you may have noticed that most toons have only 3 fingers and 1 thumb on each hand. If there is a guide that defines how many fingers a toon is suppose to have I have not found it. I did detailed research on this about 10 years ago so my information may be outdated. SunRay

Once you have completed Eotn it becomes much easier/faster to be able to complete other books. You already have the locations unlocked and you are free to map from place to place and knock out the missions without all the side quests. Now that ursan is nerfed this is no doubt one of the best ways to raise rep. ~just dont forget to have the book in your inventory when you do these missions ~ I could try to join you sometime if you plan to do this. My sin is halfway through his 2nd book right now and I might consider doing another one on him. I never heard of toons before I came to GW so I dont know. You may have to be the guiding light in toon research and finger classification. I think the GW community needs answer on this issue.

cyvil- 10-07-2008

I would leave the toon question to Sheep and Rod, with a slight change to the phrasing - Does the toon exist is it has five fingers? Or, does anyone really have five fingers? Or, which raid drive contains which finger? (please note that I was not the first to take this thread off course).

Rod Adams- 10-07-2008

The debate would be wierd in that I never user the term 'toon', always 'char' or 'character', or just by name/prof. But I have noticed none of them have toes.

If there is a guide that defines how many fingers a toon is suppose to have I have not found it. I did detailed research on this about 10 years ago so my information may be outdated. Simply put, because it's easier to draw. There is a well-written explanation at this link: Why do cartoon characters only have three fingers? Does the toon exist if it has five fingers? Yes. I give you Studio Ghibli's work as proof. Not to mention pretty much all of DC and Marvel toons. Furthermore, a toon can exist irrespective of how many fingers it has, like the Powerpuff Girls. Or, does anyone really have five fingers? Nope. Four fingers and a thumb. :P But I have noticed none of them have toes. Monks do. And Rangers. And Necros. And Ritualists. And Paragons. And Dervishes.

cyvil- 10-07-2008

Sheep, I would submit that, not only are there 5 fingers, there are 8 (and two thumbs). DC and Marvel Toons actually exist, eh? As I have seen them only on a screen, a page, or my son's underwear I have not yet confirmed their "existence."

kilgore- 10-07-2008

"Character", eh? You must be a Dungeons & Dragons nerd. Turn around so I can give you a wedgie!
