One of my sources has a theory that Jessica Rabbit led a revolt in Toon Town in 1988 over the perceived slight of fingers. The artists relented and allowed some Toons to be blessed with the 4 fingers and one thumb on each hand provided they took on the appearance of humans. I apologize for the up roar over the Toon comment. I am now convince we have Toons. :oops:

I now know I can find answers to a host of puzzling phenomena in this forum. So again, a special thanks to jhaedin for posting the Hero Handbooks sticky.
Side note: The Hungarian language calls all digits on a hand fingers. There is no word for thumb. They also only have foot fingers on a foot and not toes.
