Gerg ... I'll go. let me know.
I have Monk or Max LB/Norn Ursan
I have tried Quad runs twice before but always had non guild monks leave during the run.
So let me know a time and I'm there.
Others can discuss how much fun the run is with certain teams.... :)

My monk needs foundry and Mallyx, I would be happy to bring Qui as well, if needed. Can we get a full guild group? After saying that I would never get 55 armor for my Necro, he has some, could probably even BIP (He looks awfully good with his Igneous Caster sword and the Jungle Troll that matches his armor). Ele can make it, might be fun to try a renewal build in DoA. Paragon has Imba-"cile" skills. Lots of options here, just waiting for the right opportunity.

I'd love to come along the only problem is my Norn rank is 4 and my Light Bringer rank is a laughable 1 with the only character (warrior) that could possibly do any of DOA with so don't think I'd be welcome. I could grind for the next few days to boost my LB points and Norn Rep but the Norn runs boar me to tears and I still lack HM in EotN so no fast way there.
Have never done any of DOA but would love to. I am willing to listen and do as I’m told in an area I have never been to before.
I could boost my health and energy with consumables if they stack. Have wondered if the attack bonus from Signet of Strength and Norn shout I’m the Strongest affects the Ursan attacks. This could help me boost my attack damage. They are not enchantments so I don’t see why they wouldn’t, but may not because Ursan Strike is a touch skill and Ursan Roar seems to be a shout, I’ll test this tonight as well as consumable stacking.

In NM, I don't mind R4. If you have a monk, no rank is needed (Seed of Life helps though, Healer's Boon too).

My Ele is Norn R8 and LB 5, just let me know when you all want to do this. I would like to see what it is like.
Thanks!

Not to sound too negative...but with multiple non-max Ursan/Lightbringers I think it would be wise to do this in NM instead of HM.
I would still like to do both NM and HM but I really think with multiple people that have never been there before and without max ranks HM would be a disaster.

My ele is N8/LB 6 or 7 and would love to help. We at FOM have been struggling with balanced teams in DoA so we feel some of your pain. in trying to go the "old fashioned" way. It seems to be an area where "bring whatever you want" doesn't seem to work.

I would agree with Jhaedin, for HM non max Norn/LB is not a good idea, since even low AC classes are tough.
I do think we could do a NM run with a few Max Norn/LB mixed with some lower rank Norn/LB. Like I said in an earlier post, we did essentially the whole run in NM with only 3 Ursan and 3 Monks in about the same time and only at the end where we ran out of cons did we slow down much at all.
Not sure when folks want to try a NM run, but figure 2+ hours for a full run. We generally start in City (1 Margonite, 2 Stygian, 3 Torment, 4 Titans) or Veil (1 Stygian, 2 Torment, 3 Titans, 4 Margonite) where you end up with the most of the most expensive Gems.
Lately I have been doing a Full Run almost every day. The Ursanway team is 5 Ursans and 3 Monks in NM you can also do it with 6 Ursan and 2 Monks.
I am going to suggest we may want to try either Friday Night or Saturday, this weekend, as Ursan is expected to be nerfed in some fashion. I can go as one of the High Ursans or a Monk. All Ursans are expected to have a con set, which is Grail

, Celerity

, Armor

Yes, DOA is an area that you cannot have a hoj-poj team "bring what ever you want", but there are a number of team builds that can do DOA. Also like most of the elite areas, there are no shrines where you will spawn in case of a party wipe, so it is unforgiving in that way.
I still would like to try a "trinity" team again as I find a coordinated team a lot of fun. In those teams each member has roles and responsibilities, so its requires good teamwork, which I find rewarding. Because it depends on each role doing their job, it is a more fragile than teams that can build redudancy, but thats part of the challenge and fun.

I have a 10/8 ele but I would really like to try my monk out in DoA. I got him there but I never got a chance to do a full run with my monk.

FYI, I believe an efficient team can do Hard Mode in a little long time than Normal Mode. So figure 2.5 hours for double the rewards in HM. In Normal Mode a good time is 2 hours or less.
I lead a PUG group last night and we did it in 2:50 minutes. Part of the long time was because of typing and spawns. In Veil we had the Monk boss way in the back which cause the Hunger spawn and wiped half the team, and then someone aggroed a few extra groups between Veil and Gloom. Only need to go down one trench and someone got confused and popped another set down the wrong trench.
Also had some trouble with the Gloom area, where folks did not know the trick to doing the rift cap fast as well as taking the last 5 Darkness 1 at a time and killing all the Earth Tormentors before moving on to the next Darkness. The rest was some what uneventful, even Foundry third and fourth room, but here I took the time to type explainations and folks cooperated.
This did re-affirm that its much easier with High AC groups. This group had 4 Warriers and 1 Paragon and everyone did stay to the end. If you are not a High AC.
Label Standard armor equation Max armor Professions
Caster armor (level of armor) * 3 60 Monk, Necro, Ele, Mesmer, Rit
Light armor (level of armor) * 3 + 10 70 Ranger, Assassin, Dervish
Heavy armor (level of armor) * 3 + 20 80 Warrier, Paragon
Pet armor (pet level) * 3 + 20 80
With attributes and the corresponding shield one can boost their overall AC by 16, which is especially easy with the high AC classes, so 80+16=96 is typical. This means the damage, from physica and elemental, will be significantly reduced with higher AC. Rangers as well as other classes have some additional AC buffs from certain types of Damage that can be very beneficial. For example against earth spike the effective damage of unshielded Rangers agains earth elemental spikes would be 100, add a shield and its 116.

So apparently the moral of the story is RANGERS RULE! I could not agree more. :P

Well I had a good and bad experience today. Was leading a PUG group in DOA HM, and we started at City so were closing in on a successful full run at Foundry. We finished the Arrg no problem, and began the Fury and got the two Kis down very quickly but shortly after this several players died including me. The rest started breaking off, but in HM they pursue pretty far and in Foundry HM the environmental effects cause damage every step you take, so another died. So not two bad 3 left and out, but one runs in and tries to rez someone with a signet, aggros the group and the rez person dies as well as himself. He did not have any other rez or rez scolls and the other one alive too does not have a rez. So we have two people with no Rezs, and were 30 seconds from completing a HM in 2.5 hours with the final reward 8 titan gems and entry to Mallyx. Had someone had a rez scroll things would have been fine or had the people used there rezs wisely or better yet had not all 3 monks die, we would have been fine.
Funny thing the monks were saying they were getting bored things were going so well, and then come to that kind of end was very very disappointing. This also speaks to carry a rez scroll for those elite areas that have no rez shrines. I always carry them in DOA both on my Warrier and Monk, and they are very cheap, less than 500g of materials.
