Team BuildHave any of you tried
Discordway? I have just started (2-hours now including hero set up) tinkering with it. SO far I am impressed, although I have tried only EotN NM. I am not aware of a method to post "short" builds on this forum, so I will post just the template codes:
Me (N/Any): OABDUshnSxM3gylIC2BfCrlCAA (Until I get "Finish Him")
Nec Hero 1: OANDUsldSxMVVKgHVoBGNNgoRA
Nec Hero 2: OANDUslfSxMVVKgHV4BBE1D7EA
Nec Hero 3: OAhkUkG4RFyUMz4k00kzw0uTC4FD
There is an Assassin's Promise variant for the main toon, I do not have all of the skills yet, and have not looked at the attribute points. I have to beat Magni to get "Finish Him" and will tinker after I have done that.
Hero 2 uses vengeance. I saw it with one of the variants, had not used it before, and thought I would give it a try. The benefit, from the PvX wiki discussion, is that it leaves an exploitable corpse. I think this skill may be as irritating a death pact signet, but I will give it a try. I imagine that if Livia uses it on me too much, it will be taken off of my Hero.
There is more discussion on discordway in the guru forums -
Sabway vs. Discord thread. This discussion includes how to make the team work with something other than an Assassin or Necro Primary. The PvXwiki discussion (discussion tab, all the way at the bottom of the page) provides a build for non N/ and Non A/ toons.
EDIT: Cleaned up the second link. JET

Magni's Tournament was giving me problems until I realized how silly I was bing. Necro 55 SV with 3 points in Blood..... On top of that I ruined two pieces of armor moving runes around. Anyway, After I got things straightened out, Magni was no problem at all, no spirits needed.
The Discord, on the primary toon works well, I said "Wow, this is nice." The Assassin's Promise build: OAdTY2j6VaBKm0mcX0OgNYPQAAA leaves me with "WOW!" I tried the team on the Grawl in Eastern Frontier HM. They did not stand a chance.
I did have problems, not thinking yet again, in trying to use "Finish Him" too soon (Sometimes it helps to read the skill descriptions. I did not pull the groups far enough sometimes and another group or two would wander in. The extra healing caused AP not to trigger (it has a 45 sec recharge), but the team had little trouble polishing off the group.
This team uses minions, but it does not rely on them nearly as much as Sabway. The heroes are not particularly good with SS (poor target selection unless they are micro'd), and that eliminates that trick. The one problem I see is that the team relys a bunch on Discord, I am pretty sure that this team is less effective with fewer Discord spammers. That can be said of any "Team" though.
I think my favorite part of the AP build though is that it make effective use of the summoned assassin. I like seeing him pop around out there.
Where should I test this further?

Looks very fun :)
Too bad there is no room for fevered dreams or epidemic.
Perfect place to put this build to the test...Destructions Depths! I think this would own Destroyers...if you try it, let us know if its NM or HM and how it went
I could see this working with my Ele main. The old "air conditioning" build I used to use on Destroyers. Its got all kinds of conditions that the air magic line can cause and then it uses fevered dreams to spread them.
cyvil- 07-26-2008
Why not, Jhaedin? I like the AP version better than the Discord version for the main. Might tweak the heroes a bit for use with Fevered (fewer conditions, more hexes maybe?), but it sounds like it would fit in with the rest of the team. You just need to be able to keep hexes and conditions on.
Edit - plus, I think your Fevered build is air, not a much better spiking line than that.....

Haven't tried this team, yet, but looks promising.
Though, having an entire team built around spamming one skill is basically asking for Anet to Nerf it.

Not sure if you are talking about gwbbcode or something else when your mentioning "short" builds.
We don't have the ability to use gwbbcode, but we can add posts like this (showing your first build):
N/Any: OABDUshnSxM3gylIC2BfCrlCAA
Yes, it takes a few mins to manually code it (copying and pasting the page links and image links to make them all function properly) but it really doesn't take too much effort, IMHO. :D
For coding info, see this forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2661&start=2>LINK

I did a bit of discordway yesterday and found it effective in the Luxon and Kurzick lands, in normal. My necro only had Olias, so Vekk and Ogden filled in fine while replacing skills accordingly (2 earth area spells for Vekk, some smiting skills for Ogden). I had a couple of henchie healers along rather than investing much in healing on the henchies, just Olias as Ne/Rit.
cyvil- 07-27-2008
That is what I was looking for Jet, I will try and keep that thread in mind for the next time around. I was looking for gwbbcode, or something like it.
The build takes a little more skill in HM, at lest the Assassin's Promise Bar. The HM baddies don't go down quite as quickly as they do in NM. In Normal Mode I lead with Assassin's Promise, in HM I actually have to pay attention to the target's health bar to decide when to use it. This does work well on Destroyer's though. I visited the "Temple of the Raven Spirit," in NM and I don't think anyone's health dropped below 50%. Quickest I ever finished that quest.
I think the best thing about the build is that it has caused me to break out the Necro and finish EotN. It is fun to use, much more active than me using Ursan with H&H, and just as effective.
cyvil- 07-27-2008
By the way, you can run this build on any /n or /a depending on your preference. Obviously, non-casters are at a disadvantage and may just want to spread conditions and/or hexes to feed the heroes.

I used this, with my Necro, to complete the Titans in the Morning quest. With some pulling (no more than three at a time) I had no problems. Molotov Rocktail did cause a near party wipe, but that is better than the Full party wipe he usually inflicts on me.
Using this same type of team with my ele, I am not as excited. I used Zhed for the third Discord, and ran a variation of Xavier's (FOM) variation of Jhaedin's
Air Conditioner. I replaced YMLaD with Technobabble. It works well enough, But I have energy management problems as I do not always remember to keep attunement up. Zhed had no energy problems, but also had no healing. I brought a henchie healer along to chase the white rabbit, still got owned, in NM, before the team re spawned and was able to start at the top of the rabbit hole.

Here is the ele variation that has worked for me so far, you do not need as many points in Energy Storage, as GoLE is available unless you mess up AP
Elementalist/Assassin
Level: 20
Energy Storage: 9
Air Magic: 9
Deadly Arts: 12
Glyph of Lesser Energy (Energy Storage)
For 15 seconds, your next 2 Spells costs 15 less Energy to cast.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:30
"You Move Like a Dwarf!" ( )
Target foe is knocked down and takes 30..80 damage. When that foe gets up, it is Crippled for 5..15 seconds.
Energy:10 Cast:0 Recharge:10
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support ( )
Summon a level 10..20 Ebon Vanguard Assassin that has Iron Palm, Fox Fangs and Nine Tail Strike. This summoned Assassin Shadow Steps to target foe. If that foe is a Charr the Assassin lives for 20..30 seconds. If not the Assassin lives for 10..15 seconds
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:30
Assassin's Promise (Deadly Arts)
For 13 seconds, if target foe dies, you gain 17 Energy, and all your skills are recharged.
Energy:5 Cast:0.75 Recharge:45

Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:8

Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0
Sir Sheep- 07-30-2008
I tried running the hero builds with my paragon acting as part conditioner (Blazing Spear or Barbed spear). The main issue I found is that the heroes themselves aren't spreading enough conditions and hexes to be completely effective. Maybe add in Suffering and Enfeebling Blood? This would necessitate one necro going as a Death/Curses, leaving only one to do the MM'ing. To me, that holds a little more promise. Giving the heroes fewer options (i.e. healing versus damaging, MM'ing versus Cursing, etc) always makes them perform better.
cyvil- 07-30-2008
The Any/N wiki variant looks like this:
Necromancer/Assassin
Level: 20
Curses: 12
Death Magic: 12
Necrosis (Necromancer Other)
If target foe is suffering from a Condition or Hex, that foe suffers 40..90 damage.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:2
Pain Inverter ( )
For 6..10 seconds, every time target foe deals damage that foe takes 80..140% of the damage it causes (Maximum 80 damage)
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:20
Shadow of Fear (Curses)
Target foe and all adjacent foes attack 50% slower for the next 25 seconds.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:5
Enfeebling Blood (Curses)
Sacrifice 10% maximum Health. Target foe and all adjacent foes suffer from Weakness for 17 seconds.
Energy:1 Cast:1 Recharge:8
Weaken Armor (Curses)
Target foe and all foes adjacent to your target have Cracked Armor for 17 seconds.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:5
Mindbender ( )
For 6..16 seconds, you move 20..33% faster and your Spells take half as long to cast.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:24
Resurrection Signet ( )
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0
Alternative configuration
Discord (Death Magic)
If target foe is suffering from a Condition and under the effects of a Hex or an Enchantment, that foe suffers 94 damage.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:2
I had to list Discord as an alternate as Necrosis was removed when Discord was added.
This is what I run on my Necro:
Necromancer/Assassin
Level: 20
Soul Reaping: 11
Curses: 10
Deadly Arts: 10
Assassin's Promise (Deadly Arts)
For 12 seconds, if target foe dies, you gain 15 Energy, and all your skills are recharged.
Energy:5 Cast:0.75 Recharge:45
"Finish Him!" ( )
If target foe has less than 50% health, that foe takes 20..80 damage and suffers from Cracked Armor and a Deep Wound for 5..20 seconds
Energy:10 Cast:0 Recharge:15
Enfeebling Blood (Curses)
Sacrifice 10% maximum Health. Target foe and all adjacent foes suffer from Weakness for 15 seconds.
Energy:1 Cast:1 Recharge:8
Weaken Armor (Curses)
Target foe and all foes adjacent to your target have Cracked Armor for 15 seconds.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:5
Suffering (Curses)
For 22 seconds, target foe and all nearby foes suffer 2 Health degeneration.
Energy:15 Cast:1 Recharge:5
Resurrection Signet ( )
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0
While spreading the conditions and hexes around certainly helps, this is more of a spike team. The conditions and hexes simply fuel Discord. I found that calling all of my skills tends to keep the heroes focused a little better.
Are you running my version, or the wiki version of the team? I changed the wiki version some, to concentrate attribute points a little better. Livia is still spread a little thin.
Icy veins on one of the heroes might be nice. I have not gotten around to trying that, yet. I do very much prefer the Assassin's Promise variant on the Main. Works very well with my necro, almost as well with my Ele, and my Assassin has no Heroes (lvl 3 and holding).
The build could use more direct healing. Blood of the Master can keep a hero at pretty low health with 16 minions. Patient spirit is nice, but only one hero can apply it on someone, and then you have to wait, of course, for it to do anything.
