While I know that I need a +%e, +20% enchantment sword, I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of shield I need for a Dervish Runner. Also, if you know off hand, which uniques fit the bill? I assume that the shield should be either while enchanted, or stance.

On a related note, are there places that a Dervish can solo, that a monk or necro can not? I am debating whether or not it makes sense to gear up for this, as storage seems to be at a premium these days.

I use a +45 HP while enchanted shield with -2 damage while enchanted, its a green called Malinon's Shield

I also run with a totem axe for the energy.

There are probably places to solo, depending on what you are looking for. I have only used my Derv for a little of soloing of collectable, for example near Fisherman's Haven for Bog Skins for a Moa on normal mode. There may be some places on Hard Mode to solo farm, but I have not pursued that.

But as a runner, the Derv is one of the best. Typically you will see a Derv Assassin or a Derv Warrier. I use a Derv Warrier mostly because of knockdowns and running Droks. Runners nemasis is crippling, so depending on the run sometimes a condition removal skill can come in handy. I generally I do not run with one because as soon as you get crippled your a slowed and usually others around you and if you manage to get the crippling off, other cripples you of the ammassing agro. I just avoid cripplers.
